Combination weighers and quantitative weighers are two measuring devices suitable for granule packaging machines, and they are both suitable for weighing solid granular materials such as candy, nuts, frozen food, pet food, puffed food, medicinal materials, and hardware accessories. What is the difference between the two? Let's find out.
(1) Different working principles
Combination weigher is also called computer combination weigher or multi-head combination weigher. It is composed of multiple independent scales, generally ranging from 8 to 24 heads. Each scale can be weighed independently, and the combination scale uses the principle of simultaneous weighing with multiple heads to operate. After the feeder conveys the material to the top of the machine, the material will be distributed to each scale for independent weighing. At this time, the computer will read the measurement results of each independent weigher, and then the computer will arrange and combine the data, and select the combination that is closest to the target value to measure the final result.
The working principle of the quantitative scale is different. It is based on the value set before weighing, and the material is continuously added to this value. The size and weight of the material will have a greater impact on its weighing result, so the quantitative scale is suitable for relatively small volume and light weight items. Our BAOPACK granule packaging machine will recommend the best machine type and weighing method to customers according to the different materials and product properties of the customers.
(2) Different measurement accuracy
The weighing process of the quantitative scale is continuous feeding. The feeding and weighing are carried out at the same time. The jitter generated when the material enters the hopper will easily cause larger errors in the weighing result. The combination weigher feeds the materials into the hopper by vibrating feeding, the weighing process is relatively stable, and the measured value obtained will be more accurate. Therefore, for customers who attach great importance to the problem of material weight errors, they will prefer to purchase a combination weigher for more accurate measurement data.
(3) Different weighing speed
The measurement of a quantitative scale is generally a process of gradually adding materials from rough weighing to precise weighing, which takes a long time and has a certain impact on the packaging speed. The combination weigher is calculated by the computer to quickly combine the data of each scale feedback, and the weighing speed is faster. Materials below 1kg are packaged in a quantitative weighing method at a speed of 20-30 bags per minute, while the speed of a 10-head combination weigher is 50-60 packets per minute, and the speed of a 14-head combination weigher can reach 100-120 packets per minute. Therefore, the use of a combination weigher can greatly improve production efficiency, which is more in line with the current customer demand for production speed.
